Support Incarnation Catholic School
OHIO TAX CREDIT SCHOLARSHIPS (CEF – SGO)

Donate to Incarnation Here through the Catholic Education Foundation

The Catholic Education Foundation for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati (CEF) has been certified by Ohio as a scholarship-granting organization (SGO). In keeping with the mission of CEF and the regulations of an SGO, CEF-SGO provides financial-need-based scholarships to students in grades K-12 within the Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

Supporting students and their formation through Catholic Education is a great way to share our blessings and faith with younger generations. The CEF-SGO now allows for Catholic education supporters to be able to receive a tax credit for their generosity.

Ohio taxpayers who donate to SGOs may be able to claim a dollar-for-dollar, non-refundable tax credit on their state income tax return for up to $750 per donor (up to $1,500 if married and filing jointly). (See section 5747.73 of the Ohio Revised Code.)

  • Tax information:
    • If you make $40,130 or more:
      • you can donate $750 to the CEF-SGO
      • and get your $750 back in your tax refund.
      • Both you and your spouse can each donate $750 for a total of $1500, if you file jointly and make $74,356 or more together. If you file separately, then the $40,130 applies to each of you.  Either way, if you both decide to donate, you should make two separate donations/transactions.
    • If you make less than $40,130:
      • Your donation should be based on the amount of Ohio income tax you generate, if you want a one-for-one tax credit.
      • Those who make $26,050 or less do not pay an Ohio income tax, so a tax credit is not useful.
      • From $26,051 to $46,100, your Ohio income tax is calculated using this formula: $360.69 + 2.765% of excess over $26,050. Therefore, if you are in this income bracket, you should do the math and donate whatever Ohio tax you will owe.
    • How the SGO will help Incarnation:
      • Give tuition assistance to any family that needs support, no matter the reasoning throughout the school year
      • Help us in our process of strategically funding Incarnation School now and into the future.

Additional Parent Information Sessions are scheduled for the evening of Thursday, December 7 and after the all school Mass on Friday, December 8. More information to be communicated after Thanksgiving.
